Pay-as-you-go debrid explained — per-GB pricing instead of a monthly plan

What a pay-as-you-go (per GB) debrid is, how DebridMaster's $0.50/GB credits work from top-up to verified download, who it suits versus a monthly plan, and the questions to ask any per-GB service.

Almost every debrid service sells time: 30 days, 90 days, a year, with a “fair use” allowance inside. A pay-as-you-go debrid sells bytes instead. You put money on a balance, each download deducts its size at a published rate, and that is the whole contract. This guide explains how the model works on DebridMaster, what it is good and bad at, and what to check before trusting any per-GB service.

The model in one table

Subscription debrid Pay-as-you-go debrid
What you buy Access for a period Credit, spent per GB
Price driver Days Bytes actually downloaded
Idle month Costs the same Costs $0
Unused value Expires with the period Credits never expire
Limits “Fair use” allowance, per-host caps Per-host daily caps, published
Best for Steady heavy use Occasional, bursty or host-specific use

Neither model is “better”; they price different behaviour. If you download 150 GB every month, a $9.99 plan is cheaper than $75 of credits. If you download 6 GB in March and nothing until August, a $3 top-up beats six months of subscription.

How it works on DebridMaster, step by step

1. Top up. From $2, in crypto through Cryptomus (USDT on BEP-20, Polygon or TRC-20, USDC, BTC, ETH, LTC and others) or with PayPal. Larger top-ups get bonus credit: +10 % at $10, +15 % at $20, +20 % at $50. So $20 becomes $23.00 of credit.

2. Paste a link. Any supported host. The paste box tells you which host it detected and whether it is a standard or Plus host.

3. Fetch and verify. The file is downloaded from the host to our server and checked — size must match, content must be a real file. Nothing has been charged yet.

4. Charge, to the byte. Only now is credit deducted: file size × rate. A 1.37 GB file at $0.50/GB is $0.685; no rounding up to the next GB. If verification failed, the charge is $0.

5. Download. You get a direct link from our edge, valid for 72 hours, with Range support so you can resume or use several connections.

The order of steps 3 and 4 is the part that matters. A per-GB service that charges on request rather than on delivery makes you pay for every dead link and every failed fetch. DebridMaster charges after verification, so a failed attempt is free. How the pipeline works is in how DebridMaster works.

The rates

Host class Rate Hosts
Standard $0.50 per GB Keep2Share, FileBoom, NitroFlare and most others
Plus $1.50 per GB (×3) FileJoker, FilesMonster, Upstore

Plus hosts cost us far more to serve, and the multiplier is how that is passed through openly instead of being hidden in a higher price for everyone. Details in understanding Plus hosts.

What that buys with each top-up:

Top-up Credit after bonus Standard GB Plus GB
$2 $2.00 4 1.3
$5 $5.00 10 3.3
$10 $11.00 22 7.3
$20 $23.00 46 15.3
$50 $60.00 120 40

Where the caps are

Pay-as-you-go does not mean no limits. Every host on DebridMaster has a daily bandwidth per user, published on its host card and on the status page, reset at 00:00 UTC. Today the featured hosts are Keep2Share 50 GB, FileBoom 50 GB, NitroFlare 100 GB, Upstore 20 GB, FileJoker 15 GB and FilesMonster 15 GB. The caps are per host, so they do not add up against each other. A service that says “unlimited” with no number attached is usually hiding a limit rather than lacking one.

The free tier is separate: 2 files a day, up to 512 MB each (1 GB a day in total), no credit needed, same verification.

Who pay-as-you-go suits

  • Occasional downloaders — a few files a month, sometimes none. You pay for those files and nothing else.
  • People with a subscription debrid already who need one or two hosts it does not cover (see which debrid supports FileJoker). A $5 top-up handles the odd link without a second subscription.
  • Anyone who dislikes recurring charges. There is nothing to cancel; a balance simply sits there.
  • People who want to know the price of a file before fetching it. Size × rate, and the pricing page calculator does it for you.

Who it does not suit: steady heavy use. Past roughly 10 GB a month the Pro plan (15 GB, $4.99) is cheaper, and past about 27 GB the Premium plan (40 GB, $9.99) is. Plans are paid from the same wallet and renew from it each month; cancel any time and the plan runs to its end date. The break-even maths is worked through in pay-as-you-go vs monthly plans.

Questions to ask any per-GB debrid

Pay-per-traffic services are appearing, and the model is only as fair as the details. Before putting money on any of them, including ours, check:

  1. When is the charge taken — on request, or after the file is verified? Ask what a dead link costs. The answer should be $0.
  2. Is billing to the byte or rounded up? A 1.1 GB file billed as 2 GB is an 80 % surcharge.
  3. Do credits expire? Some “permanent” balances have quiet inactivity clauses. Ours do not expire.
  4. Are the per-host caps published, in bytes, before you pay? A published cap you can plan around; an unpublished one you discover at the worst moment.
  5. Is there a live status per host? Not a list of logos — live availability and a recent success rate.
  6. Is the rate the same for every host? If some hosts cost more, the multiplier should be visible on the host page, not in the bill.

DebridMaster’s answers: after verification; to the byte; never; yes, on every host card; yes, on the status page; and Plus hosts are marked ×3 up front.

FAQ

Is there a minimum spend? The smallest top-up is $2. There is no minimum per download.

What if a download fails halfway? Failures during the fetch cost $0. Once the file is verified and you are downloading from our link, the link stays valid for 72 hours and supports resume, so a dropped connection is a pause rather than a second charge.

Do I need an account? Yes — a free one, so the balance and history have somewhere to live. No host accounts are needed.

Can I pay without a card? Yes. Crypto via Cryptomus is the primary option; PayPal is also accepted.

Is pay-as-you-go anonymous? No more than any other online service: an account and a payment exist. We do not make privacy claims we cannot back, and the privacy page says what is stored.

Top up from $2 in your account or run a file through the pricing calculator first.
